Mandate:
Legislation and/or Regulation:
There are a number of aspects to hazardous materials and hazardous waste under OSHA regulations (also extending to areas such as Asbestos, Hazard Communication, Suspect Cancer

Causing Chemicals, etc.). First, employees must be trained to properly handle chemicals, clean up spills and use proper disposal techniques. Second, facilities storing or using significant amounts of potentially harmful chemicals must report through the "Community Right-to-Know" Law and develop a Spill Prevention Plan. Also, waste disposal is covered by certain DOT, EPA and DEC regulations.

What the SRM Service can do to help:
Services:
  • Assist with proper disposal of chemical wastes according to OSHA, DOT, EPA and DEC guidelines.
  • Standard Operating Procedure development for handling hazardous chemicals.
  • Development of a Spill Protection Plan.
