Mandate:
During maintenance, servicing and repair, energy sources must be disconnected, de-energized, then locked-out and/or tagged-out. This ensures that inadvertent operation cannot occur, and no residual energy remains. A Lockout-Tagout plan must be developed and maintained for all covered equipment and systems. Staff must also be trained and proper records kept.
