Facilities where significant amounts of potentially hazardous chemicals are used may need to have a spill control and have designated staff trained in the procedures to handle chemicals safely and to clean up spills. OSHA and EPA regulate the use of hazardous chemicals on sites such as schools. EPA NESHAP, DOT and DEC regulations also govern waste disposal.
