Course Description
The Engineering Program is designed for college bound seniors who wish to pursue a career in the field of engineering and science. The program covers the basics of many engineering disciplines and provides an in-depth look into some of today’s and tomorrow’s engineering fields.
The program offers college credit Calculus, college credit Physics, and Engineering Exploration with a project based curriculum. Students will also take senior level English, Economics, and Participation in Government with emphasis on engineering connections to these courses.
Aside from offering the project based curriculum in engineering, students will have the opportunity to visit various industries where engineering is a key component. Field experience, job shadowing, and internships may be made available at off campus locations.
Learning will also include visits to engineering programs at several universities, as well as distance learning through interviews and discussions with engineers from around the country.
Instruction will be at a collegiate level focusing on not only subject material but also preparing students for college and the real world. Teamwork and collaboration will be essential to success in the program as well.
Our project based learning will include individual and class contests, as well as participating in engineering competitions like the Rube Goldberg Challenge held at Union College.

Prerequisites
- Three credits of high school math and science
- Meet graduation requirements for Regents Diploma
- Minimum 85% GPA with excellent attendance record
- Completed application package
Articulation Agreements
Students will be able to receive college credit for Calculus through Syracuse University and college credit for Physics through SUNY Oneonta.
