SkillsUSA is a student-based organization at OAOC that enables students to develop leadership skills, encourage group interaction to gain self-awareness and confidence. Students develop abilities through participation in education, vocational, civic, recreational and social activities. Students learn a deep respect for dignity of work, purposeful life, enthusiasm for learning, promotion of high standards, develop patriotism and create a sincere interest in esteem for trade, industrial, technical and technology in occupations. The students in the career and technology classes compete in their skill area at Delhi College for the Area II Competition. Students must finish in the top 3 positions to compete at the NYS competition held in Syracuse. Winners at the state level compete at the National level held in Kansas City, Missouri.
