IRS Announces 2024 Contributions for Flexible Spending Accounts
The IRS has announced an increase to the health care Flexible Spending Account (FSA) contribution limits for the 2024 plan year. The 2024 FSA contribution level maximum will be $3,200, and the rollover is $640. For Dependent Care FSAs, employees may contribute up to $5,000 per year if they are married and filing a joint return, or if they are a single parent. If they are married and filing separately, they may contribute up to $2,500 per year per parent.
In the year-long-plus fight against COVID-19, these essentials have been proven necessary and effective by medical officials, which is why the IRS' (Internal Revenue Service) recent Announcement 2021-7, made masks, hand sanitizer, and hand sanitizing wipes eligible for FSA/HSA.
You can now buy feminine care products with your flexible spending account.
Allergy sufferers can now purchase over-the-counter allergy medicines with their FSA with no prescription required.
