Career Pathways I & II
PLACEMENT
Grade Levels: 9th - 10th Grades
Age Levels: 14 - 21 Years of Age
Students are recommended for this program by their district’s Committee on Special Education.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
This is a custom designed, multi-year, vocational program for special needs students between the ages of 14 and 21 who are either at risk of dropping out of school or have been unsuccessful in traditional academic or vocational classes. First and second year students will be actively involved in a variety of career modules that will provide pre-vocational training, critical thinking skills, job training, and other fundamental life skills. This is a half-day program which can be combined with another Innovative Program or with a school district based program.

Career Pathways III & IV
PLACEMENT

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
This program is designed for 11th and 12th grade students who have received pre-vocational training in Career Pathways I & II. Students will receive extensive on-the-job training at various job sites within the local communities plus classroom instruction focused on transitioning from school to the world of work. This is a half-day program which can be combined with another Innovative Program or with a school district based program. Special features of Career Pathways III & IV include:
Job Coaches - provide job and task analysis for students throughout their work placement in the community..
Transition Work Study Coordination - The teacher develops appropriate job sites for students. In addition, he is responsible for facilitating the development of transition plans for students.
A Vocational Assessment Specialist - provides Level II Assessments for all students in the program. The specialist furnishes valuable information regarding students’ strengths and weaknesses in vocational areas and is helpful in developing students’ transition plans.
