The Mechatronics Senior Class made a presentation to the ONC BOCES Administration for their Capstone Project!
The students researched and designed a new simulator that they will build. The project includes producing a set of construction documents that include drawings, bill of materials, cost sheets, bid documents, time sheets, definition, and purpose of the project. This simulator will contain 6 motor control stations that will allow 12 students to work at the same time. There will be multiple motors per station and many different types of motor controllers, timers, relays, sensors, and other control devices. The design will adapt to any student and allow for full ADA.
They seniors made a Powerpoint and oral presentation to convince the Administration (their clients) to purchase the materials so that they could build this simulator. This new device will allow more students to work, save the school money, add more content to the course, and be expandable to other controls or technologies.
The oral presentation preparation and coaching were done with the help of Carolyn Cooper, Staff Development Specialist, and Arianna Patsos, Consultant Teacher, to integrate the additional literacy skills into our curriculum.
The students did a fantastic job with their project!
