Mandate:The NYS Education Department recommends following NYS Department Of Health guidelines for schools set forth as
Pandemic FLU Action Kit for Schools in New York State dated August 2006.
Similar to MRSA, these guidelines include infection control, guidelines for teachers, nurses, custodial and athletic departments as well as parents and the community.
What the SRM Service can do to help:Services: - Assist in updating and implementing an effective infection control plan.
- Coordinate training and fit testing for school medical professionals who need to use N95 respirators.
- Help identify appropriate cleaners and disinfectants.
- Act as a liaison between the school and the NYS Department of Health.
